  • Submitting research papers to the IET journals;
  • Helping to author new publications;
  • Reviewing papers in your area of expertise;

  • Becoming an IET mentor;
  • Contributing to government consultations;

Why get involved?

By volunteering your valuable time and applying your knowledge and expertise to IET activities, you are providing immense benefit to others.  It will give you great personal satisfaction whilst being an enjoyable and rewarding experience which enhances both your professional and personal development.

It doesn't matter why you volunteer, but you can be sure that your time will make a difference.

Volunteer activities

In April 2009 we held the Volunteers Conference Weekend at Savoy Place in London. Volunteers from across the organisation attended this annual conference in order to be involved in the shaping of a truly global Institution. It's an ideal opportunity for volunteers from across the globe to share knowledge and experiences to help improve the local presence for the benefit of our members and the public.

More information about the 2009 Volunteers Conference can be found on our website and is restricted to IET Members only.
