What?

The event will be “themed” around the general subject of Knowledge, which includes:

  • The Semantic Web / Linked Data / Hyperdata / Data Web
  • Web Science
  • Topic Maps
  • Information Architecture and Design
  • Knowledge Acquisition
  • Knowledge-Based Systems, Knowledge Engineering and Rule-Based Systems (etc)
  • Knowledge/Information Visualisation and Graphical User Interfaces
  • Knowledge-orientated Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
  • and maybe even, Object Oriented Databases

Good stuff, but what does “Unconference” mean?

It means that it is more social, more hands-on and a lot less formal than a usual conference, it is also attendee orientated (meaning that the people who attend will generate the content of the event, there is little prior content organisation). The Bristol Knowledge Unconference also has a specific theme (Knowledge) and a specific location (Bristol, UK).

Who should attend?

Anyone with an interest in Knowledge on Computers (including the Internet). You could be from large, medium or small organisations. You could be in business or academia. You could be technical or high-level.

We want to hear if you’re:

  • building a system which does stuff with knowledge
  • sharing knowledge on the web (in whatever format)
  • writing specifications which involve knowledge
  • starting up a company which deals with knowledge
  • a student
  • designing stuff involving knowledge
  • ...doing literally anything to do with knowledge! (or even if you’re just an interested passer-by)
